About the Competition Commission of India (CCI)
The Competition Commission of India (CCI) is a statutory body of the Government of India responsible for enforcing The Competition Act, 2002 throughout India and preventing activities that have an appreciable adverse effect on competition in India. Established on 14 October 2003, CCI plays a pivotal role in maintaining fair competition in the market.
About the Opportunity
The Competition Commission of India invites applications for its prestigious legal internship program. This is an excellent opportunity for law students to gain hands-on experience and insight into competition law and its application in India.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this internship, candidates must be:
- In the second or third year of a Bachelor’s degree in Law (3-year course after graduation), or
- In the fourth or final year of the five-year integrated Law course, or entering the fourth year after completing the third-year exams.
- Pursuing LLM.
Additional Qualifications:
- Only Indian nationals are eligible.
- Students from recognized Institutions and Universities with exposure to Competition Law.
- Students with a placement in hand are not eligible.
Duration
The internship typically lasts for one month, commencing on the 1st working day of the month. However, applicants interested in a 2-3 month internship can apply with due recommendation from their respective University/College/Institution.
Stipend
Interns will receive an honorarium of Rs.15,000/- per month.
Number of Seats
There are 15 seats available per month.
Certification
Interns who complete the internship satisfactorily, as certified by their mentor/guide, will receive an electronic certificate.
Location
The internship will be based in Delhi.
Application Procedure
Interested candidates should apply in the prescribed format given in the Annexure. Applications in any other format will not be entertained.
Steps to Apply:
- Obtain a recommendation from a competent authority at your academic institution.
- Prepare a Statement of Purpose (about 200 words) covering a brief introduction and objectives of your study.
- Ensure your application reaches by the 1st of the preceding month to the intended internship month (e.g., for December, apply by 1st November).
