About the Job
Skuad is hiring Employment Counsel. The date of joining would be preferably within a week of the offer rollout or on a mutually agreed date between the candidate and Skuad.

Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in law or a related field. A master’s degree would be a plus
- Extensive experience working as an Employment Law Consultant or in a similar role, preferably in India
- In-depth knowledge of Indian employment laws, regulations, and labour market practices
- Strong understanding of various legal aspects of recruitment, retention, and separation of employees
- Proven experience in drafting and reviewing employment agreements, policies, and other related documents
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and research skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively advise and communicate complex legal concepts to clients
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple client engagements simultaneously
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Proactive and adaptable to changing client needs and legal requirements
- Sense of Humor (Non-Negotiable)!
Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal advice and guidance on a wide range of employment law matters
- Advise and assist in employee terminations, separations, and employment dispute resolutions
- Draft, review, and vet various employment-related documents, including employment agreements, employer-of-record agreements, separation letters, transfer letters, full and final settlement letters, and statutory HR policies
- Assist in developing and implementing employment policies, compensation policies, and workforce structuring policies in line with the local laws
- Ensure compliance with labour laws, including those related to the Provident Fund, Industrial Relations, Industrial Disputes, Contract Labor, and internal company policies
- Stay up to date with changes in central and local employment laws and regulations and advise clients accordingly
- Collaborate with internal teams, such as HR Ops, payroll, legal, finance, etc. departments, to provide coordinated and effective legal solutions
- Assist in the preparation and review of employee compensation and benefits packages
- Conduct legal research and analysis on employment law issues as needed
- Provide training and guidance on employment law compliance and best practices
- Assist in individual and large-scale workforce reductions and restructuring, while ensuring compliance with labour laws and regulations
